The plot summary
The film begins with a flashback scene where a freedom fighter named Nekiram (Sunder) wants his daughter Janki (Pandharibai) to marry Ratan (Karan Dewan), the son of DIG Rajlaxmi (Veena). However, Rajlaxmi does not approve of the match and insults Nekiram. Ratan, who loves Janki, insists on marrying her against his mother's wishes.
After the marriage, Rajlaxmi plots to separate the couple and hires a goon named Sarang (Sunny Hinduja) to kill Nekiram. However, Sarang kills DIG instead and frames Nekiram for the murder. Rajlaxmi then throws out Janki, who is pregnant with Ratan's child, from her house. Ratan does nothing to help Janki and remains under his mother's control.
Janki gives birth to a son named Rajesh (Rajesh Khanna) and raises him with the help of her friend Chanda (Rakhee). Rajesh grows up to be a brave and honest man who works as a lawyer. He also falls in love with Samara (Kriti Sanon), his boss at a law firm.
One day, Rajesh learns that Ratan is his biological father and that he has a half-brother named Raj (Ankur Rathee), who is engaged to Samara. He also finds out that Sarang is still alive and working for Rajlaxmi, who wants to use Jindal's business to smuggle drugs. Rajesh decides to seek justice for his mother and expose Rajlaxmi's crimes. He also tries to win back Samara from Raj and reunite with his father.
