The Cadence OrCAD /Allegro FREE Physical Viewer is a free download that allows you to view and plot databases from OrCAD PCB Editor, Allegro PCB Editor, Allegro Package Designer, and Allegro PCB SI technology. If you are using new features from the OrCAD / Allegro platform 17.2 release, you will need to download the latest OrCAD / Allegro FREE Physical Viewer 17.2
General development and support for the OrCAD PSpice Schematics product has been discontinued. We will, however, continue distribution of PSpice Schematics as a download as an aid to our customers who wish to continue using it. (NOTE: Schematics can only be run on 32-bit Operating Systems; Windows 7 and earlier).

OrCAD Lite software download is no longer available and has been replaced with new and improved dedicated OrCAD Viewer, OrCAD Trial, and OrCAD Academic versions that provide more advanced PCB design functionality for everyone.
We have recently addopted OrCAD PCB Designer (17.2). Previous designs were done in OrCAD 10.3 (capture and layout). I have seen examples on how to convert a .MAX file to a .BRD file, but I haven't been able to find a tutorial on how to migrate an entire design so I can mod it in 17.2. Does this exist I am curious about updating a .DSN file tied to the new .BRD file. Where are the symbols/footprints located that are now associated with the new .BRD file How can I get the intertool communications setup between the old .DSN and the newly imported .BRD file I have been able to do a new design from scratch with the new toolset, but a complete design migration has been difficult at best. Thanks in advance for any guidance here.
I design my schematic and PCB with orcad 10.3 but I have a problem . I updated Windows from Windows 7 to Windows 10. When I try open cadence it takes a lot of time. I mean it opens too late. Also when I open cadence, CPU is overloaded at %90-95.
OrCAD Layout has been replaced by PCB Designer, sometimes called Allegro PCB Designer. The latest iteration of OrCAD CIS schematic capture software has the ability to maintain a database of available integrated circuits. This database may be updated by the user by downloading packages from component manufacturers, such as Analog Devices[14] and others. Another announcement was that ST Microelectronics will offer OrCAD PSpice models for all the power and logic semiconductors.[15] Intel offers reference PCBs designed with Cadence PCB Tools in the OrCAD Capture format for embedded and personal computers.

Orcad will use the FIRST file it finds, from top to bottom. So, ensure your paths are ordered "correctly". In my case, my directories are ordered so that the find priority is: project, company library, orcad standard library, downloads.
