Features

The Tsakiridis Devices AEOLOS is a basic integrated amplifier that does not require a preamplifier. It has four line inputs, a motorized blue Alps volume control and a remote control. It uses push-pull configuration in class AB1 and provides enough power to drive low sensitivity speakers. Depending on the model, it uses different types of output tubes: EL34, 6550 or KT150. It also has different types of signal capacitors: polypropylene, Mundorf evo or Mundorf supreme silver gold oil. It has hand made ultralinear multi layer output transformers, porcelain tube bases, double face printing circuit with separate signal and power path, power supply capacitors United Chemicon, metal film resistors with low tolerance 1%, gold plated input connectors Ultimax and nickel plated or WBT Nextgen output connectors Ultimax. It comes with a five-year guarantee.

Operation

To operate the Tsakiridis Devices AEOLOS, you need to follow these steps:

  • Turn on the power switch on the back panel. The power indicator on the front panel will light up.

  • Wait for about 15 minutes for the tubes to warm up and stabilize. This will ensure optimal sound quality and performance.

  • Use the remote control or the input selector on the front panel to choose the input source you want to listen to.

  • Use the remote control or the volume control on the front panel to adjust the sound level to your preference.

  • Enjoy the music!

Some tips for operating your tube amplifier are:

  • Do not turn off the power switch unless you are not going to use the amplifier for a long time. Leaving the power switch on will prolong the life of the tubes and avoid thermal shock.

  • Do not touch the tubes when they are hot. They can reach temperatures of over 200C and cause severe burns.

  • Do not expose the amplifier to direct sunlight, heat sources, moisture, dust or vibrations. These can damage the tubes and affect the sound quality.

  • Do not connect or disconnect any cables when the amplifier is on. This can cause sparks, noise and damage to the amplifier or your speakers.

  • Do not overload the amplifier with speakers that have a lower impedance than recommended. This can cause distortion, overheating and damage to the amplifier or your speakers.

  • Do not use cheap or faulty cables or connectors. These can introduce noise, hum and interference to your sound.

  • Do not place any magnetic or metal objects near the amplifier. These can interfere with the magnetic fields of the transformers and affect the sound quality.

  • Do not modify or repair the amplifier by yourself. This can be dangerous and void your warranty. Contact an authorized service center if you need any assistance.

Maintenance

To maintain the Tsakiridis Devices AEOLOS, you need to follow these tips:

  • Keep the tubes clean and free of dirt and dust. You can do this by wiping them down with a clean, dry cloth after each use.

  • Do not touch the tubes when they are hot. They can reach temperatures of over 200C and cause severe burns.

  • Do not expose the amplifier to direct sunlight, heat sources, moisture, dust or vibrations. These can damage the tubes and affect the sound quality.

  • Do not turn off the power switch unless you are not going to use the amplifier for a long time. Leaving the power switch on will prolong the life of the tubes and avoid thermal shock.

  • Do not modify or repair the amplifier by yourself. This can be dangerous and void your warranty. Contact an authorized service center if you need any assistance.

  • Replace the tubes when they show signs of wear or failure. These include loss of volume, loss of tone, noise, hum, microphonics, red plating or flashing. Always use matched sets of tubes from reputable brands.

  • Adjust the bias of the tubes when you replace them or when they drift out of spec. This will ensure optimal performance and prevent damage to the tubes or the amplifier. You can use a tube bias meter or a tube tester to measure the bias current and voltage. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations for bias settings.

  • Check the fuses regularly and replace them if they blow. The fuses protect the amplifier from overcurrent and short circuits. Always use the correct type and rating of fuses as specified by the manufacturer.

  • Clean the pots, jacks and switches periodically with contact cleaner spray. This will prevent oxidation, corrosion and noise from affecting the sound quality.

  • Store the amplifier in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place when not in use. Cover it with a dust cover or a cloth to protect it from dust and dirt.
