Hey Campbell! I recently had this same problem and I think the problem is that among us VR isn't supported on the meta quest 1 due to hardware constraints. See this reddit post for some more information.

I still think allowing third party "inside out" headsets on series x is the best way to test the water. Minimal risk to MS (no hardware sitting on shelves if it fails), good PR of letting users use their "existing headset" and if it does well they profit from the games sold.
